Aside their weightloss benefits, lemons are great for strengthening the immune system and fighting infections and illnesses. I think that everyone should have at least 1 lemon a day for these reasons.
Let's see some other uses of lemons that are not health related below:
Keep Rice from Sticking - This is a great tip for those who do alot of cooking. Try adding a teaspoon of lemon juice (depending on the quantity of rice) while the water is still boiling and this will help keep it from sticking and turning into a gloopy mass. You'll also get to enjoy your rice with a hint of lemon in it.
Boost Laundry Detergent - By adding lemon juice to your washing you can get rid of stains from cotton T-shirts. This is one tip I love because I get makeup on my clothes sometimes. Add 1 cup of lemon juice during your wash cycle and leave it for a while before washing. Its ability to remove the stains is dependent on the intensity of the stains.
Highlights - Lemon is rich in Vitamin C which acts as a bleaching agent when applied directly on the skin or hair. So if you want lighter hair without having to go to the hair dresser, try lemon juice. Take 1/8 of a cup and spread it on your hair in the desired places, then let your hair dry, wash your hair and repeat this process until the desired hair color is reached.
Clean Microwaves – If you're looking for a more natural way to scrub up your microwave, try combining 3 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 & ½ cups of water – you can either heat it up in the microwave to let the steam clean the walls (just make sure you use a microwave proof bowl ) or you can warm up the mixture and take a cloth and use it as a scrub!
