I ignored Jesus and lost many things...but he saved me! -A must read

I woke up this morning saying "I have a word in my mouth and I'm gonna preach it". Before I went to bed few minutes past midnight I had no intention to share a motivational message filled with the love of Jesus with you, but I had this experience just during the hours I slept that caused an awakening in my spirit.

For a while I felt incomplete. I'm a Jesus girl but unconsciously I drifted away from my blessed savior, Jesus. I'd say my prayers before I sleep and when I wake up.
I'd read my devotional and try to study the word of God, but I never experienced any awakening or renewed fire in my heart. The bible says in the presence of God there's fullness of Joy, but I struggled to experience this Joy.

In a bid to understand what caused my inconsistent Christian living I reflected on my life. I tried to remember when the sluggishness for the things of God started and it hit me!

It started when I moved to a temporary apartment and a new environment for the sake of my work and in a bid to settle into my new environment I paid less attention to my relationship with Jesus and overtime it resulted in a break in my relationship with him.

In a bid to wake up early, get myself prepared and go to the studio where I work  on a set as an actress I unconsciously ignored my daily Christian living. I'd glance through my devotional and pray with a sleepy head saying "Jesus will understand". Yes, he understood and he always will, but I caused myself harm no thanks to neglecting my usual quiet time with Jesus.
And for some reason I was lost in settling into a new environment that I let it influence me negatively.

Because of my knowledge that Jesus is ever merciful and understanding I put him on hold, put all my energy into my new job and this was what affected me.

You see God has promised to give us victory and dominion over everything we set out to achieve, but he didn't forget to mention the steps we need to take in order to make his promises realities in our lives. In the book of Joshua 1: 1-5 he promised his continuous blessings and presence, but he didn't stop there. He went on to tell us what we must do to experience his unrivalled greatness in our lives in Joshua 1:8. God instructed us to meditate on his word daily and also act upon it.

You see this was the part I neglected and that caused my incompleteness, but thank God for Jesus and the awakening I got from my sleep.

During the break I unconsciously took from my relationship with God I experienced loads of setbacks. My health was at point zero, my finances suddenly went bad and I even struggled to do my work, but thank God for Jesus I was saved!

For the first time since the break, I prayed this morning and I knew it was a genuine communication with God and I effortlessly praised him as I did my morning workout.

I'm going to bring this to a conclusion with these lessons that I learnt and believe will make some sense to you. I learnt that when we lose ourselves from our true source(s) of Joy and inspiration, every aspect of our lives suffer immensely.

It's easy to think that our love will understand our short time or longtime absence and honestly when they truly care about us they would understand, but I believe that if we don't shut out the ones that we love, our lives will generally progress smoothly, because it'll be filled with their love and support.

Some people say they operate better when they're alone. Well I'm not asking you to establish a love relationship with someone just to feel love. I'm only suggesting that we keep the true love connections around us alive. These love connections could be your siblings, or parents or relatives or even your true friends, but Jesus is our biggest and truest love, because he died for our sins and he'll always be there for us, (John 3:16 , Psalm 91:15-16).

Most importantly never take a break from loving Jesus everyday. If you feel that drift in your relationship with God, fix it already! He's always there and he's promised to fix and bless you if you'll humble yourself and seek him genuinely. So go back to him! He's Jesus, he's beautIFU, merciful, understanding, great, powerful and he loves you! He's the son of God and there's none like him!

I hope that I ignited something positive in you. God bless you!
