GINGER TEA RECIPE AND HEALTH BENEFITS



Good morning guys! It's a wet Tuesday morning here in Nigeria, but I'm doing great! How you doing?
In my last post I promised to teach you now to make ginger tea and this is me fulfilling my promise. There're several ways of making ginger tea, but this is how I make mine...


You'll be needing; fresh ginger, water, honey and lime or lemon(optional)

Step

Grate ginger and boil it in water for 5-10 mins. Let the ginger sit in the water for at least 10mins, this will allow complete saturation. Sift, add honey for taste and lime or lemon (optional) . Your ginger tea is ready! Easy right?

You can choose to pour hot water into grated ginger, cover it and allow to sit for 20 mins before sifting and adding honey. Adding lemon or lime is especially good for those trying to lose weight. Ginger tea is also good for anyone who uses their voice either as a singer or a speaker. I do loads of singing and ginger helps to keep my voice in check. It also protects it, especially from the cold and cough.

1. It relieves menstrual discomfort ( in the past I hardly looked forward to that time of the month, but since I started drinking ginger there's been loads of improvement. I got through the last one without any pain at all)
2. It improves stomach performance; ginger helps with digestions and fights belching and bloating. It could also help restore appetite in some people.
3. It increases fertility; some people believe that taking ginger regularly helps to increase a man's sperm count.
4. It relieves nausea.
5. It  relieves stress.
6. It fights respiratory problems such as cold and cough.

Some side effects of ginger include:
1. Diarrhea: drinking too much ginger tea leads to diarrhea and nausea. One time I had too much ginger in my food out of desperation to get my voice back, but I ended up paying for it by visiting the toilet at least 4times that day.
2. Too much ginger can lead to acidity and low blood sugar so ginger should probably be avoided by diabetics.

If you're not sure of your health status, it's advisable to consult your doctor before you become a fan of ginger.
